Steve Herrig
Steve is the President, CEO and our company founder. He began PES in May 1999. Prior to starting PES, Steve worked in the insurance industry for 16 years where he gained an appreciation for business solutions for Workers’ Compensation and Employee Benefits packages that met the diverse, changing needs of his insurance customers. Steve gained even more insight into the demand for employee leasing and benefits management when he founded Elite Agency Services. He went on to become CEO of Financial Advantage Insurance Agency, which he merged into Connell & Herrig Insurers in 1991. Steve eventually sold this company to concentrate his efforts on growing Progressive Employer Services and offering even more robust Payroll Administration, Workers’ Compensation, Employee Benefits and HR solutions. Under his leadership, we have grown our client base as well as our reputation as a regional leader in HR solutions. He has received numerous awards for his innovative leadership such as the Gulf Coast Business Review’s 2007 Entrepreneur of the Year.
Rayburn Martin
Rayburn joined our company as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in September 2005 following the completion of the acquisition of SunWest PEO of Florida. He had served as CFO for SunWest since 2000. Under his direction, our financial management and stability has remained extremely strong enabling us to expand locations, staff and solutions to our customers. Rayburn has worked in a variety of high-profile accounting positions including Director of Finance and Director of Tax for Staff Leasing. He brings over 15 years of accounting experience to our company. In addition, Rayburn is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CAICPA) and Florida Institute of Certified Public Accounts (FICPA).
Joe Ott
Joe brings a tremendous amount of real-world training and implementation techniques to Risk Management for our customers. Under his leadership as Vice President of Risk Management, our clients have benefited from reduced claims costs through innovative Safety and Return-to-Work programs. Recently, Joe led the intensive certification process for the “Best Practices of Workers’ Compensation Risk Management” designation by the Certification Institute (CI). Prior to joining us, he worked in Risk Management for other PEO’s within Florida. Joe holds a degree in Occupational Safety and Health as well ARM (Associate in Risk Management), AIS (Associate in Insurance Services) and CRM (Certified Risk Manager) designations. He also serves on the Certification Institute Workers’ Compensation Risk Management Advisory Board.
Kat Bush
Kat brings over 14 years of operations experience in the Professional Employer Organization industry. As our Vice President of Operations, Kat is responsible for the day to day operations of our company assuring that our clients are getting the best possible customer service in the industry. Kat provides leadership and direction to multiple departments in PES including: Benefits, payroll, support services and customer service. Kat began working at PES in 2002 and has served as Payroll Manager, Director of Payroll, and Director of Customer Solutions. Kat is a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) from the American Payroll Association.Gregg Martello
Gregg joined our company in 2006 with over a decade of management and sales experience. As our Director of Sales, Gregg is responsible for the organic growth of our company. Gregg has held the positions of Manager of Broker Development and Manager of Sales Training and Onboarding with PES. Throughout his work at PES, Gregg has significantly redefined the sales onboarding, operations and sales training for our company. Gregg is a licensed 220 agent with experience selling property and casualty insurance and specializing in workers' compensation. Carlos Cardenas
As our Director of Marketing, Carlos uses his two plus decades of management experience to promote our company and provide marketing support and direction to our sales team. Carlos joined us in October 2006. Prior to that, he held leadership positions as Corporate Development Strategist and Director of Ambulatory Services and Regional Laboratory Operations for a large health care system in Indiana. Carlos is Past President of the Gulf Coast Latin Chamber Board, the Chair for Junior Leadership Manatee Board, an alumni of Leadership Manatee, and serves on the board of directors of the Easter Seals of SW Florida and the United Way of Manatee County. Carlos was recognized as one of the "25 People to Watch", by Sarasota Magazine's Biz 941 in 2008.
Carlos Delgado
As our Regional Sales Manager for South Florida, Carlos focuses on helping business owners reduce their employment costs by offering comprehensive management of payroll administration, workers' compensation, human resources and employee benefit programs. Carlos has an extensive track record of success with over 23 years of experience in sales, management, finance and human resources. Most recently Carlos received the President's Club award for top sales production with our company. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting from Florida International University. Carlos is very active with the community in Miami and sits on the board of directors of the Latin Builders Association.Mary Pearman-Murphy
Mary has been with PES since 2002 and brings over 14 years of combined Carrier, TPA and PEO experience. She has held the positions of Claims Manager and Director of Claims. In her role as our Director of Claims, Mary leads a team of pro-active insurance adjusters in successfully mitigating the overall claims costs of PES and its clients through various cost containment and claims management programs. Mary has served as the Treasurer on the WCCP board of directors and holds the following designations: ACA (Accredited Claims Adjuster), CWC (Certified Work Comp Professional), and CWCL (Board Certified Work Comp Litigation Adjuster).Jesse Albritton
As our Director of Information Technologies, Jesse is responsible for supporting the technology initiatives for mission critical systems, networking, telecommunications and advanced development for all PES locations. Jesse joined the PES family in 2006 as a PC and Server Technician after obtaining his bachelor degree in Management Information Systems from the University of South Florida. Since then he has made significant improvements in our IT department in the areas of database administration, systems analysis, and project management. Jesse was promoted to Director of Information Technologies in February 2010.
